The deep blue shade of patina of this work draws one right into it. “Inception” is ambiguous - it asks questions rather than giving answers. It seems timeless, like an artifact from both the past and the future. What did this project have to go through in order to be here and now in front of us, covered in grain and notches, but still purposeful and calm? What paths did each of us go to be ourselves today and meet this work?
